circa 1976 My dad, Fred, sent this picture to my uncle Lowell Kuykendall in Oklahoma. The letter went on and on about "How nice it is out here in California. We can grow almost anything." Then he gets my mom to take a picture of him with the "special" tree.

He had taken a bunch of carrots and stuck a wire up the end of each one, then hung them on a tree to make it look like he had grown a carrot tree. Check it out. Rural humor to the bone.
