Beale Street: Home of the Blues

   Just a few blocks from the Peabody Hotel on on Union and 2nd streets in Memphis ... is the home of blues. Where W.C. Handy played and wrote songs like "St. Louis Blues" and "Memphis Blues". Later, the more rural blues made its way onto the street and into the juke joints of Memphis. Elvis "hung out" on Beale occasionally. B.B. King's blues club is located there.
