From the
Guest Book
And
now for a few posts made to my online guest book that just
tickled my heart concerning the CD.
(Names
omitted to protect the
innocent.)
Sorry if this is a tacky thing to do
(putting
these posts in here),
but darn it ... they mean so much to me that I couldn't
resist. There were more, but I figured it may be going a
little over the top if I quoted everybody. Thanks to each
and every one of you who posted such nice words, and to
those of you who's posts don't appear here. I appreciate
them ALL! --M-- I
remember the first time I heard your CD -- I just kept
saying "No way! No way!" That wasn't the voice I expected to
hear. And then the next song had a different sound, and a
different voice, and so on. ____ Michael,
I am so proud of you for taking that leap of faith and
putting it into this incredible CD. "The Many voices and
talents of Michael Allsup" should be the
title. _____ I am
enjoying listening to your CD. My favorite tracks are: Some
Women, El San Juan Hotel & Casino and Sail On Sailor. I
really like your soulful voice. ___ LOVE the
CD ... the voice, the tunes, even the CD liner/notes were
done in a first class manner. ____ I just
love the CD - I've had to buy 5 of them because I keep
giving them away to friends that I believe are worthy of
your genius. Thanks so much for sharing your music and your
spirit with us all. ____ Not only
is this guy a wonderful songwriter, he's a great singer,
too! Michael, going back a few (okay, several) years, I
think the songs that you wrote on "Cyan" were some of the
best songs that Three Dog Night ever recorded. Now, with
"Some Women," you continue to thrill us with your gift of
music. If I had to pick a favorite song, it would be "Gulf
Coast Ladies" ... a song near and dear to my heart. From now
on, every time I eat crawfish etouffee', I think of
you! ____ Listening
to that CD is like feeling bits and pieces of this man's
heart ... you can't ask for more than that. Except of
course, we DO want more! It will be an even greater
challenge to top "Some Women" because your creativity
completely exploded on this one. ____ I never
get tired of listening to "Some Women." The music is so
diverse. There's something for every mood. And after 30
years, Michael, I didn't know what a fine voice you have.
Congratulations! ____ You are
blessed with a wonderful talent for song writing and
singing. You have a great voice and I love how it changes
from song to song. You make a lot of people happy by giving
us great music and smiling that great smile. ____ Michael,
You are one Rock'n MoFo!! Your CD is great. ____ I bought
your CD MONTHS ago and before I could ever listen to it, my
friend came in, raided my stash and took "Some Women" out. I
just got it back today and It's been on the repeat button
all morning.
