Part II of the Upside of R&R Home

Below, Chuck discovers the "Rule of the Wild." That is, no matter where you stand, the smoke will always blow straight into your face. Little Jackie smiles, as he offers a helping hand by waving a seat cushion, but was only making it worse. (Cough, cough!)

In time, we got the fire going real good. As you know, food that is cooked outside when you're camping, tastes fantastic. Even musician's cooking. As I recall, Cory did some sort of corn meal prep on the fish and they tasted great. We sat around the fire and told lies and ridiculously absurd stories to each other for the rest of the evening. Cory and I had both brought 2 man backpacking tents with us, so we just set them up next to each other and all was good. The way those colored tents looked at night, with a Coleman lantern inside, added to the ambiance of the campsite. The next day, we went a little further downstream and if I recall correctly, were driven back upstream, to where our cars were parked. I could be mistaken on that part. Whatever. It was a great fishing trip, one I'll always remember. A very special outing for all of us, and one that is very dear to me, specifically because of Jack's death in 1996. He was a special person and a close friend.

Amid the personal problems that were getting worse in the group, this was a welcome vacation. Still, you know me, I was anxious to get back to the music. I love that part.
